Note: Elective credits can be fulfilled in the following ways:
- JRN graduate courses
- Graduate courses across Klein (5000+ courses in MSP, COMM, ADPR, CDSC, & MMC)
- Upper-level JRN undergraduate courses (3000- and 4000-level) taken for graduate credit. Petition signed by instructor and program director required.

Culminating Event:
Capstone Project:
JRN 9995 Master's Research Project constitutes the culminating event. Students complete an independent reporting project that results in a journalistic masterwork analogous to a thesis that will be pitched to a professional news organization, creating the foundation for a portfolio of published work.
