Careers

The Human Development and Community Engagement BS helps you develop skills to advocate for all types of vulnerable groups, devise solutions for a variety of social problems, and manage programs for a wide range of advocacy organizations. As part of the Human Development practicum, students in this major have developed

  • fundraising events,
  • lesson plans and thematic curriculums,
  • one-on-one programs for individuals,
  • training programs, and more.

Graduates work with advocacy organizations, childcare centers, public policymakers and others. Others have pursued graduate degrees in applied behavioral analysis and nursing.

Internship

The Human Development and Community Engagement major aims to nurture future professionals who are committed to serving their communities. One particular advantage of the major is the opportunity for undergraduate students to gain practical, hands-on experience through a year-long practicum and internship in a local community organization.

School & Community Partnerships 

As part of its mission to give back to the surrounding community and provide substantive fieldwork experiences for its students, the College of Education and Human Development has formed partnerships with more than 25 institutions and organizations.
