Résumé

A current professional résumé is required.

Transcripts

Temple University requires transcripts from each academic institution from which you earned credit for coursework. Copies of transcripts may be used during the admissions process; however, Temple University requires officials of any admitted student.

Additional documentation may be required for non-US academic institutions, such as marksheet and diploma. For such institutions, please review these guidelines from Temple University’s Graduate School.

Letters of Recommendation

One letter of recommendation is required. Professional references from an immediate supervisor, current or past, are preferred. Academic references are acceptable.

Within the application, enter your reference’s contact information. References are then invited to upload their letters of recommendation. We encourage you to submit your application while waiting for recommendations to be completed.

Essay

Submit one essay that addresses your professional plans and goals. Your essay should also address the following questions.

  • What past experiences prepared or motivated you to pursue a Master of Accountancy degree?
  • How would you expect to change over the courses of the program?
  • What personal and professional values and skills do you hope to acquire beyond the academic content?
  • How will obtaining the Master of Accountancy degree help you achieve your career goals?
Standardized Test Scores

Candidates with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0 are required to submit a Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) general test score. Official scores must be reported from a GMAT or GRE test taken within the last five years.

Academic and Musical Profile (AMP)

Music Skills

Submit a digital video shorter than 15 minutes. Clips must feature the applicant’s musicianship, the types of activities the applicant currently associates with music teaching and learning interactions with at least one other person engaging in the activities with the applicant. Include a brief written narrative explaining the contents of the video.

  • If declaring the choral track, feature music-making using your singing voice. You may also feature your ability to play other instruments.
  • If declaring the instrumental track , feature music-making playing a primary instrument and your singing voice. You may also feature your ability to play other instruments.

Given complications related to COVID-19, video recording of online engagement featuring musicianship and communication skills of the applicant are acceptable.

Writing Skills

Upon completion of the formal half-hour application interview, there is a 90-minute writing exam. The written portion of the AMP allows you to demonstrate your best writing in response to prompts regarding lived experiences. The exam is scored by music education faculty. Results are considered in the admissions decision.
